How to count how many of each product was ordered?

"how many of each item the group chose"- Google Docs Editors Community

This is a common question, and 72 people on Google's forum have asked it: once everyone has ordered on your Google Form, how many of each item is that? The Summary tab draws one chart per question, which doesn't add up quantities, and a formula in the response Sheet has to be written, copied down and fixed when a new row breaks it. A miscount means someone's order goes missing. Neartail's Sales by product report adds up every order on your form and shows how many of each product were ordered, ready to download as a PDF.

To get the count, create your order form and follow the steps below.

1. Name your order form

On the page that opens, click Enter your form name, type your form's name and click Generate. Check the outline it suggests and click Proceed. Your form opens on the Edit tab.

2. Send the link to your group

In your form, click SHARE, click Link, click Copy and send the link to the people ordering. Each person opens it and orders what they want.

3. Open Sales by product

When everyone has ordered, click ORDERS, then Sales by product. The report opens on the year, with an arrow on each side of it.

4. Read how many of each were ordered

SUM of Quantity sold is your count. To send it on to whoever prepares the order, click the ⋮ and choose Download as PDF.

Summary

Google Forms charts each question but doesn't count how many of each product were ordered across everyone's orders. With Neartail, Sales by product adds up every order and gives you that count, ready to download. Create your order form and complete the steps above.
