How to see where people stop filling your form?

"track partial form entries in WordPress"- Quora

Google Forms shows you only the responses that were submitted. When people start your form on your website and leave halfway, you don't know who they were or which question stopped them, and recording tools such as Hotjar can't see inside Google's embed. On a quote or sign-up form, each person who leaves is a lead you lose. With Formfacade on your page, everyone who started and didn't submit shows up on a board with the answers they gave, so their last answer tells you where they stopped. The form is part of your page with no iframe, so Hotjar or FullStory can record each visit.

Let's start. Create your form and follow the steps below.

How to put the form on your WordPress page?

  • On the page that opens, name your form, click Embed form and click Proceed.
  • On the Share tab, under Where do you want to embed this form?, select "Embed in my WordPress site" and click Next.
  • Install the plugin and follow its setup to add the form to your page, as the three steps on the screen say. Read How to Embed Google Forms in WordPress?
The Embed tab under Share, which is marked, with the three steps to embed in your WordPress site: log in as an admin, install the WordPress plugin for Google Forms and follow the setup wizard

How to watch each visit?

To watch each visit, add Hotjar or FullStory to the same page, as they show you. Your form is part of your page with no iframe, so their recordings can show it.

How to see who left?

  • Click on "Responses" tab
  • Click Kanban board
  • The Abandoned column lists everyone who started your form and didn't submit it
The Kanban board with Priya Nair and Tom Reyes under Abandoned, which is marked, and Ravi Shah under Submitted

How to see where they stopped?

  • Click a card to see the answers they gave
  • Priya's last answer is Phone, so the next question on your form, Project budget, is where she stopped
Abandoned entry 12 on the Request a quote form with Name Priya Nair, Email priya@example.com and Phone 555 0142, with the Phone row marked as the last answer

Summary

If people leave your form before submitting, Google Forms shows you nothing about them. With Formfacade on your page, everyone who started appears in the Abandoned column with the answers they gave, so you can see who left and how far they got. Create your form and complete the steps above. If you have any questions, write to support.
